A commercial dryer is the core equipment for processing a large amount of fabrics in modern industrial and commercial places. Its efficient working principle is inseparable from the air circulation system. Air circulation determines the efficiency and effect of drying. It also affects the use of energy and the protection of fabrics.
In high-intensity use scenarios:
● Commercial dryers need to process a large amount of clothes, so their air circulation system design must have the characteristics of high efficiency, energy saving, and fast speed.
Working Principle of Air Circulation
● Air Heating
The air circulation system is one of the important parts of a commercial dryer. Its basic working principle is using a fan to heat the air and blowing it into the drum to contact the wet fabric so as to take away the moisture. Finally, the moisture will be discharged to achieve the purpose of drying.
Commercial dryers will quickly heat the outside air to the set temperature by electric heaters or gas heaters. The heated air is usually at a higher temperature, which helps to accelerate the evaporation of moisture. The dryer will intelligently control the heating temperature according to the type and humidity of the fabric. It ensures a suitable temperature of drying when drying different materials.
● Air Guidance and Circulation
The heated air is guided into the dryer drum by the fan system. Hot air can be evenly distributed around the fabric when the drum rotates. As a result, each piece of fabric can be fully exposed to hot air. This air circulation can quickly remove moisture from clothes and convert the moisture into water vapor.
Usually, commercial dryers are equipped with multiple vents and deflectors to ensure that the air forms a stable and even air circulation throughout the drum. It can prevent overheating or uneven drying in certain areas.
● Moisture Exhaust
When hot air comes into contact with wet fabrics, moisture evaporates and enters the air. To prevent excessive moisture in the drum, commercial dryers will exhaust this water vapor-rich air outside the machine by virtue of the exhaust system. Some high-end commercial dryers are also equipped with humidity sensors. When moisture in the air is detected to drop to a set value, the system automatically adjusts the wind speed and exhaust frequency so as to optimize the drying effect and save energy.
Key Components of the Air Circulation System
● Fan
The fan is a key device that drives airflow. The function of the fan is to pass the heated air through the dryer drum and take away moisture. In commercial dryers, the fan usually has a large power and adjustable wind speed to cope with different drying needs. The fan’s function of adjusting wind speed can also adjust the airflow intensity on the basis of different characteristics of the fabrics. It not only ensures efficient drying but also prevents the fabric from being damaged by wind.
● Heating System
Commercial dryers usually use two heating methods.
❑ Electric heating ❑ Gas heating
The heating system quickly heats the cold air outside to the ideal temperature to provide the high-temperature environment required for drying. The heating system design of commercial dryers is more powerful, which can heat a large amount of air to a predetermined temperature in a short time to ensure efficient air circulation.
● Exhaust System
The exhaust system is responsible for exhausting the moisture inside the drum to the outside of the machine, thereby keeping the air inside the drum dry. This process is very important because if the moisture is not discharged in time, the drying efficiency will be greatly reduced.
Usually, the exhaust system of commercial dryers is equipped with a humidity sensor. The sensor can dynamically adjust the exhaust volume according to the air humidity so as to improve energy utilization.
● Air Filter
The air filter is used to filter out fluff, dust, and other impurities generated during the drying process to prevent them from entering the air circulation system and blocking the airflow or damaging the machine. Regularly cleaning the air filter can ensure that the air circulation system always operates efficiently.
